Through My Lens: A Photographic Journey
Krakow Episode 3

Before becoming a vibrant district of Kraków, Kazimierz was a separate medieval settlement founded in the fourteenth century. Over the generations, it evolved into a major center where Jewish culture, traditions, and community life flourished.

Tragically, this rich history was devastated by the horror of World War Two and the Holocaust. We hoped that such horrors never occur again anywhere in the world.

Following the release of Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece Schindler’s List, the historic neighborhood gained widespread international attention and experienced a profound cultural revival.

Today, the area honors its heritage by hosting the renowned Jewish Culture Festival each year at the end of June.

If you are planning a trip to Kraków, exploring the atmospheric streets of Kazimierz is an essential travel experience.
